Pineapple Frozen Yogurt – Cooking with Kids Recipe

Pineapple Frozen Yogurt - by Little Spoons and Spice

As you may have noticed, we’re on a homemade frozen yogurt kick.  Now that the warm weather is here to stay, the kiddos appreciate an ice cold and refreshing treat.  And as parents, we appreciate that it’s actually good for them too!

This flavor is one of my personal favorites.  It’s not too sweet and the pineapple flavor makes it quite refreshing.  As a mom with little free time (many of you can relate), I imagine it would be quite nice sitting on the beach, relaxing in the sun, hearing the waves crash onto the sandy beach… sounds nice, right!?  But if you can’t enjoy it on a beach, it’s just as good when you share it with your family at home. 🙂

What I really love about this recipe is how easy it is to make.  It only took us about 5 minutes.   You just toss everything in the blender, then freeze.  If you’re not a pineapple fan, you can always sub in other flavors.  We just happened to have a beautiful pineapple cut up that day and it had the perfect sweetness.

OK, let’s start mixing.  Here’s a list of supplies you’ll need:

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Bowl with lid
  • Blender
  • Spoon or spatula

Tip: If the frozen yogurt sits in the freezer overnight or for an extended period of time, try setting it out at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to make scooping easier.
You can also return the frozen yogurt to the blender to create a smooth soft serve consistency.
