AGE APPROPRIATE COOKING TASKS

Every child’s ability varies depending on maturity or cognitive and physical ability.  Parents need to use their own discretion when assigning tasks.  These are general guidelines for the Peanut Butter Fruit Dip.

Younger than 3 years old

  • Name and count ingredients with child
  • Help pour ingredients into bowl
  • Help wash fresh fruit

3 – 5 years old

  • All of the younger tasks
  • Measure and count ingredients
  • Help mix ingredients together
  • Help cut up fresh fruit with a kid-safe knife only

6 – 7 years old

  • All of the younger tasks

8 – 9 years old

  • All of the younger tasks

10 – 12 years old

  • All of the younger tasks
  • Help cut up fresh fruit with a knife

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

  • Wash everyone’s hands!
  • Clean all work surfaces before starting.

Peanut Butter Fruit Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • ½ cup creamy natural peanut butter
  • 1 Tablespoon real honey
  • Fresh Fruit

Instructions

  • Mix together yogurt, peanut butter and honey until smooth consistency.
  • Serve with your favorite fresh fruit.
