Menu Planning: Making Life a Little Easier

Menu Planning - by Little Spoons and SpiceWith school back in session, life is getting a little busier, maybe even a tad chaotic.  In addition to school, comes all the extra-curriculars, sports, lessons, etc., which is a lot of running for us parents.  This is all fine until you get home and realize you’ll need wizardry straight outta Hogwarts to swing supper by six.  As much as we love to cook, when we’re super busy and don’t have the time, cooking can definitely feel like a chore.  Sometimes just figuring out what to make can be the most daunting task of the day.  Especially when the kids add pressure by asking, “What’s for supper!?” and when your mind is completely blank with ideas.

I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but planning out your meals on a weekly or monthly calendar truly does save you time…and stress.  It also helps you and your family eat healthier… most people don’t intentionally plan to eat unhealthy.  I’ve found that grocery shopping is also a lot easier when I’ve got a weekly or monthly plan laid out.  Then we’re not wandering aimlessly through aisles trying to get meal ideas, surrounded by food packaging marketers all trying to pull us in.
