Crunchy Quinoa Granola – Cooking with Kids Recipe

Crunchy Quinoa Granola - by Little Spoons and SpiceThis yummy, crunchy granola goodness is the perfect boost for your morning wake-up.  And it’s delicious on top of yogurt, as it gives a bit of sweet crunch.  Our kiddos like to eat it plain, with a spoon or just their fingers.  The combination of nuts, seeds, quinoa and oats is loaded with nutrients, and the sweet hint of maple, really takes you to the northwoods.

This recipe works great for picky eaters too. If you don’t like a certain ingredient, just swap it with something else.  If you don’t love honey, increase the maple syrup.  We’ve found this recipe combination perfect for our family, but we know everyone’s taste buds are unique to their own, especially kids. 🙂

The best part…? It’s super fun and easy for kids to help make.  There are a lot of ingredients, and young kids love to help with measuring.  This also means that everyone gets a turn, which we all know can be crucial when you have more than one child cooking in the kitchen.

OK, let’s start mixing.  Here’s a list of supplies you’ll need:
